NEW LAUNCH: The LoopHoler Profit Calculator
Right-O you lucky dawgs,
Don’t say I don’t listen – because I do (except to the same dude who keeps resetting his router and posting crap. I’m still not reading them… I’m still not posting them… Except for the one where you pretended to be ‘Neil’ – that was quite polite – so ill allow that) haha
But a lot of the comments I get is “How do you work out your profit percentages” or “how do I know if something is a good deal”.
Well – being the VBA Writing genius that I am – I thought I would treat you all and create you something that you can use on your computers to work out when a deal is really worth a punt.
This is “Version 1.0” release – and I plan to update/upgrade it as I go along/when I have time
http://www.loopholer.com/LoopHoler.com%20Calculator.xls
Now, the Calculator should start as soon as you open Excel, but if it doesn’t or you have to enable your macros – then simply press the button on the screen to launch.
Step by step – you just have to punch in the details of the deal you’re looking at.
Take for example the current Play.com “2 for £10” on BluRays.
They are offering you the chance to own “The Guard” (£15.49) and “Mimic: Directors Cut” (£6.99) for a mere £10 on the two!
These two titles SELL for £7.00 each (Mimic/Guard) – so we’d be making £14 (40% cash) on each £10 spend. But I need to factor in postage from Play.com (as I might want them quicker!) and I may be able to make a few quid on CashBack too – so need to factor that in too!
So if we want to make a few quid… Use the calculator to play with the figures until you have the desired amount of profit/desired amount of people required.
Now, in my example… I know that I can rope my friend/brother/stranger-from-the-street into selling into CEX with me – so I want to do a “2-Man-Job”.
So as my CEX can take 9 copies off my hands before bulk deductions – I simply select the “NINE” option in the limits (top right)
Punch in the details (as I know 2 people x 9 copies = 18, then I’ve typed in 18 copies of each – if I go over – the amount of people required at the bottom will update)
Because I’m nervous (I’m a first time loopholer – lol) I might opt for the £8.95 Express Delivery to get them tomorrow. So ill add £8.95 on to the postage costs.
Then using the buttons, you can see the CashBack rates for some of the leading retailers – a quick click of Play.com will pop up the rates and I can see that BluRays at Play.com pay 2.02%

Plug that into the results – and hocus pocus alakazam – jobs a good ‘un
I can see that 18 copies of each on Express delivery (i.e. Next day) will cost me £188.95
It will need 2 people to do this transaction in one swoop.
It will return £252 cash at CEX – which is a profit of £63.05. A 35% Cash profit.

Again, people who scoff and say “All that work for 35%?” – its FREE money. I don’t have to do anything but wait for the goods to arrive – take them with me – and run them into town on my lunch break – and for that ill get £60+
To that, ill say “Ta Very Much”

Lol pretended to be Neil that was actually me showing you a little respect ; )
Apologies, your IP Address was flagged as being the same dumb kid who wh0res this site with his childish nonsense and boring drossy scribblings.
I write a lot of these posts at night and then schedule them to post at more ‘people friendly’ hours – so I can only put it down to sleep deprivation
Hey!
I was just wondering if you always take your items to a CEX store? I have lots of issues with my nearest CEX where they chop and change their rules; they frequently stop me trading in more than one or two copies at a time. I remember that Batman deal – they would only let me trade in one copy as they “had too many” and there’s been many times where they won’t trade for cash as they are having stock issues (not sure how having too much stock means they can’t give cash!)
Also, do you know if your store buys PS2 games for cash? (Having an issue with this too, so was just wondering if the rules are similar elsewhere).
Hello Again Lindsay,
Sounds like your CEX is very much like my GameStation – adding extra “Pain-in-the-Arse-Ness” with the ever changing goal post rules.
My CEX will take anything – and if there’s cash in the tills – you’re more than welcome to it. I think PS1 is the only thing they don’t take.
I don’t tend to do lots online, because it’s a 5 limit and postage costs. *BUT* if there’s a particularly good cash deal – I will get all my families CEX online accounts and send off a load “on their behalf”.
Espeically if its 200% cash, as this will more than take care of the recorded post.
I don’t think CEX head office are idiots either – as they would receive 4-6 identically wrapped packets – all (apparently) sent from different account holders.
But never had a problem with online. It’s a 5 limit, but you just need to get a load of friends/family to sign up – and allow you their details/sign-in.
The only thing they’ll ever have to get involved with is when the cheque arrives (or get them paid via BACS – if they’ll give you their bank details) then ask them for the money at another time.
If I score my Mum, Dad, Brother, Cousin etc etc a deal that pays £32.30 into their accounts – I just ask that next time they are past a cash machine – they withdraw me £30.
They get a few quid (as its no inconvenience to them until they have to visit a cash machine) and on a £18-20 deal, I make £10 profit off each family member/friend.
The “Stock on shelves” line they are feeding you – I’m sorry to say is ‘bollox’.
If they take in 1,000 copies of something, they will simply transfer to another store – or send a job lot to head office to go on the warehouse stock count.
I’ve traded in a LOT of 10/20+ bundles in my day – and by the end of the week they are gone (I remember Full Metal Alchemist recently) and at £20 sell price – NOBODY would have bought them.
But overnight – boom – they disappeared!?
So they will never be “lumbered” with stock on their shelves. Your store obviously doesn’t like people making money off them… Where as mine actively encourage it (and always show an interest as to “how I’m doing” in any given week haha)
Its all to do with staff.
Some are jobsworth who like to flex their muscles of power (snigger) and some are people who will work for the company will just be there to work – so if you follow the rules – you’re not asking them to break any rules – and theres no risk of them being fired because of it – so they’re just happy to help.
I don’t understand why every store isn’t like that.
It doesn’t affect their hourly wage…. So why get *SO* bent out of shape about it.
Just serve the customers for frick sake! Haha!
