I’ve now been in 4 stores in and around London and all of them have had the same ‘approach’ to my line of questioning.
Trading in Future Soldier like they’re going out of fashion – they are usually £30 trade – but magically they will scan through at £37.50?
“Why?” I ask quizzically.
“Oh, we’re running a promotion at the moment” – giving no further details away and always shying away and attempting to distract me from the obvious follow up questioning…
“What’s in the promotion – just Ghost Recon?” I prompt – fish’ingly
“Err… Nah, it’s um, on software”
“By ‘software’ you mean games right?”
“Er, yeah”
“All platforms – all games, regardless of age?”
“Well – yes”
Brilliant. So from this short passage of conservation I’ve relayed – yes – they are doing 25% extra on games – whether this is like HMVs current +£2 promo, where they’ve reduced all the old games accordingly and left the newer releases at normal prices etc.
But for £37.50 trade on Future Soldier, I’ll say “Ta very much!”
Also great for converting CEX to Gamestation/Game if required.
Sorry I can’t give my usual more detailed updates for you today peeps (receipts, pics etc), but I’m currently on a weeks holiday in the British sun trap resort of Brighton haha!
I very much doubt this is just a “down south” thing – but ring your local Game/Gamestation ahead of your journey and double check (but “blood from stone” might ring true for some people!)
Its country wide; I went into GS yesterday and they have a small handwritten sign in there confirming this. In in Glasgow BTW. Hopefully there is some credit to be made from CEX transfers as its over the road!
My local Game have a big handwritten A-board outside promoting this deal, strange how some want to keep it under wraps and others are so open about it!
I wish I had some free cash at the minute so I could build up some more credit
