Superheroes Wanted… To Earn +50% Cash

Another poorly formatted fastball for you all! (Back from holiday Thursday – so the pretty stuff will recommence then) :D

Smallville Series 10 £9.95 at Zavvi on BluRay

Cashing out at £15 at CEX – strangely the same cash price on the DVD version – but that’s more expensive everywhere!? Go figure?!

Don’t forget – its 5.05% TopCashBack too – so a £90 spend will return 9x copies, £4.50 in CashBack and £135 at CEX – a nice £45 ‘immediate’ cash profit and £4.50 in your TCB account in a couple of weeks ;)

£49.50 for so very little effort!

Thanks LoopHoler!

According to TCB if you enter NEXTDAY as a promo code you can get Free Next Day delivery on orders over £75

You Sir/Madam – are a saint.

My order is still “Processing” so a swift cancel and a re-order later and I can confirm this beauty of a code is working.

However, it days say expected dispatch a week – so although its on a next day service – it may not be physically in stock – so might have to wait. But there’s not large amounts of product instock on the website, so im hoping a weeks time – it all pays off :)

Plenty of time to cancel orders – as the price has dropped.

If you have “online” orders locked in, might be worth a shit – but it’s a long one! :(

That’s a shame, CEX are still paying £15 for the DVD version but it’s still probably still not really worth it. Thanks for the heads up by the way.

It seems like the cex price has dropped to £10 cash =(

Someone must have informed cex!!! I have cancelled my order of 36 copies!!! These where going to be dispatched on the 16/6/12. Also when ordering over £50 use code FNDD for free next day delivery. It actually discounts £4.95 from your order if not in stock.

Can someone please help me and tell me
If it is possible to set up stock alerts on the cex website

June 8, 2012 at 4:04 pm ratboy01 reply

At current – No.

I’m told they are planning a revamp, but I’ve been told that for a while now.

Their site is incredibly basic. It’s great in some aspects (5 minute update) but basic in the terms of their search system (which is terrible and has zero intelligence – which probably costs them buckets of sales) and other bits and pieces that look a bit old hat.

But the business, the concept and the day-to-day working is all good!

(Except for their online sales – I have SOOOO much beef whenever I buy anything online from them)

What would be the benefit of stock alerts on the CEX website? Just curious.

June 11, 2012 at 10:32 pm Gary reply

They do have some ridiculous prices for *some* collectives. Such as (not long ago) having the Tin edition of Mass Effect 1, for £18 – which openly sold to Amazon (or on eBay) for £70-£100.

Never any stock online, but a stock alert would have been lucratively profitable in that instance.

But personally, I’d love to see it – as I collect 3D BluRays, and the newer or rarer ones don’t appear online to buy much – so that would have come in handy ;)

Ah, I get it. So if I were to code a simple stock checker that emailed people when stock levels changed on certain products, it’d be handy?

I might make one. What features would people be interested in?

The way I envisage it working would be:

enter product code/product URL and your email address. Stock checker checks the price every x minutes, and emails you if it’s greater than zero.

That’d be super simple to make…

So yeah, I went ahead and coded this yesterday. Seems to work fine. It alerted me when a BluRay that was out of stock came into stock, and emailed me the following:
